Sarah Wilkin’s bio 1:

Sarah Wilkin is founder & CEO of FGA, a Booking.com grantee in 2018 when herself and Professor Shiju Raveendran at University of Amsterdam, chemical engineer and catalyst specialist, gained a sustainable travel grant to work on the R&D of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) which was a milestone for SAF awareness, being the first time the tech had been given attention outside of the aviation industry. 

Previously she worked in digital, advertising and market research before switching careers in 2018, and brought this knowledge to sustainable aviation developments to push innovation and carbon reduction in the area as well as bring a new perspective. 

Sarah went on to introduce and pioneer the concept of turning SAF into a credit/unit in 2019 for access for and cost sharing with the business travel sector, gaining approval from global certification body Gold Standard, which has lead to other mechanisms being developed by industry SAF leaders as well as the Book & Claim approach.  She also supported Amex Global Business Travel on their SAF strategy and Formula E and provided other businesses leading edge opportunies in SAF. 

Sarah is now developing work across multiple sectors to speed up the acceleration of net zero in travel through consultancy, education, and development of new business models.  

This was a judge on the Business Travel Sustainability Awards, they created a documentary called the Golden Bullet and have now launched in their new community and B2B support for ESG professionals called  “In the loop”.

Sarah is founder & CEO of FGA, a Booking.com grantee in 2018 when herself and green chemistry professor, Shiju Raveendran at University of Amsterdam gained a sustainable travel grant to work on the R&D for SAF which was a milestone for SAF awareness, being the first time the tech had been picked up by the business travel industry. 

Previously she worked in digital, advertising and market research before switching careers in 2018, and brought this knowledge to sustainable aviation developments to push innovation in the area and to bring a new perspective.

Sarah is now developing work with the business travel and sports sectors through FGA & FGA Sports to speed up the acceleration of the energy transition in travel through consultancy, education, and development of new businesses models.  

This year she is a judge for the Business Travel Sustainability Awards and FGA is going into a pilot phase of membership sponsored by aviation insurers Convex. 

Sarah Wilkin’s bio 3 for the nuclear industry:

Sarah Wilkin is the entrepreneurial founder and CEO of Fly Green Alliance, which was the first sustainable aviation fuel (SAFs) alliance developed globally. She has pioneered and evangelised carbon reduction through SAFs, after presenting the case to booking.com in 2018 and being awarded a grant by booking.com to work on the R&D and market development, and has now gone onto pioneer the use of nuclear to decarbonise the supply chain of aviation and for use within eFuel process. Speaking at World Nuclear Association and International Atomic Energy Agency events to discuss the case of aviation decarbonisation.

She is a keen innovator, deemed trailblazer and thought leader in green travel having supported groups such as Amex Business Travel and large insurance firms to gain their corporate strategy, and is now bringing her knowledge of the blockers of public perception and corporate uptake to support the nuclear sector to grow investment and develop the application uses and end-user offtakes. Sarah and FGA are part of the World Nuclear Association ‘end user group’ representing aviation and was one of the founding signatories of the “Tripling of nuclear by 2050” announced at CERAWeek alongside google, Dow and Amazon. Sarah is working on bringing the aviation sector into the ecosystem through the new “Nuclear for eFuel Initiative” which she is developing with Hydrogen Energy Association and Nuclear Hydrogen Initiative.

Sarah Wilkin’s bio 4:

Sarah Wilkin is the entrepreneurial founder and CEO of Fly Green Alliance, which was the first sustainable aviation fuel (SAFs) alliance developed globally. She has pioneered and evangelised carbon reduction through renewable fuels for air travel – SAFs – after being awarded a booking.com travel grant to work on the R&D and market development. FGA are now carbon strategist in travel and transport as consultants and have a not-for-profit membership which carries out industry level work across multiple sectors.

Sarah is a keen innovator, deemed trailblazer and thought leader in green travel and has worked with sports groups as Birmingham County FA, Norwegian FA and Formula E; and has worked as a consultant on Life TACKLE, the first UEFA environmental EU project and with Sokito to carry out a research project which measured the carbon footprint of the football transfer window, and continues to work to influence new sponsorship and strategy across sport. Sarah was selected for the first cohort of Women in Football’s entrepreneur mentorship program.

FGA in 2024 coordinated on a Horizon Europe future mobility grant and has brought sports into the expert committee to demonstrate the strength of the community and influence possible at local, national and global level.
