Fly Green Alliance, the Hydrogen Energy Association and the Nuclear Hydrogen Initiative are coming together to work on advancing the role of nuclear energy in the production of synthetic aviation fuel (SAF) and eFuels. Each organisation will contribute the knowledge and experience of its members / participants to the initiative, with the Hydrogen Energy Association contributing its expertise across the hydrogen value chain, the Nuclear Hydrogen Initiative contributing expertise on the intersection of hydrogen and nuclear energy, and Fly Green Alliance contributing expertise on eFuels/synthetic aviation fuel (SAF) for aviation, travel and transport.
The Nuclear Hydrogen Initiative is led by Elina Teplinsky, who is also a partner and the Energy Industry Group leader at the Pillsbury law firm. Hydrogen Energy Association is led by Dr Emma Guthrie and Fly Green Alliance is led by founder Sarah Wilkin.
With travel as an essential part of every sector’s business operations and key to economic growth and global connectivity, accelerating carbon reduction in travel and transport is a global climate challenge for all to solve.
The continued advancement of low carbon fuels is a core focus of the Hydrogen Energy Association and Nuclear Hydrogen Initiative, with Fly Green Alliance’s work being fully dedicated to travel and transport decarbonisation. More details with regards to the combined agenda of this new coalition will be shared in the coming weeks, with the intention that it will facilitate greater advocacy, knowledge sharing and business support for synthetic fuel-oriented /eFuel projects, and remove barriers to creating essential low-carbon travel and transport energy sources from hydrogen, nuclear and renewable fuels.
We have invited suppliers and buyers to sign the declaration; those providing technologies or feedstocks as well as offtakers, facilitators and market makers. We will also be mapping each group across the production process so it is clear where our signatories contribute with their expertise, to encourage and galvanise partnerships across the supply chain for investment and uptake acceleration to meet decarbonisation targets.
We are excited to bring this global coalition together to make real-world impact across our respective industries, understanding that cross sector collaboration and building a collective is highly effective for change making and business development. We invite your organisation to join NEFI to bring your knowledge, networks and drive.
Joining us as signatories so far from Italy, US, UK, Turkey, France, Europe is:
