FGA’s Sarah Wilkin on CGTN media

Founder & CEO of Fly Green Alliance was invited to China Global Television Network to discuss China’s sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) supply which is currently being exported to Europe to meet SAF mandates. As projects don’t quite reach FID (final investment decisions) in the UK and EU as yet it has given China an opportunity to meet the demand in the region.

  • China’s SAF is currently not blocked by the UK or EU and China’s national approach is a voluntary one
  • Mandates in Asia are beginning to develop as well as policy and funds to develop the industry in Australia
  • The US does have increasing support for SAF and incentives for SAF, biofuels, hydrogen and nuclear power
  • ICAO and the EU are funding feasibility studies in LATAM, Africa and Asia to increase production, working on the industry truly having a global effect on security of fuel supply as well use for carbon reduction

“In the loop” by Fly Green Alliance is a membership model supporting groups to develop their work in SAF through working with an expert group dedicated to the industry. Contact sarah@flygreenalliance.org to discuss further.
